As we emerge from this most testing 18 months, it’s clear that the fundamentals of our plans for success have endured that test and are adapting to the emerging needs of our businesses, communities and residents. Our growth and investment plan is robust, there is an even stronger community spirit, and more innovative and effective partnership working across the District to get the best value outcomes for all.
The Council is playing a key role in shaping our place for the better, working with businesses, communities and partners to deliver the right outcomes for the District. It’s about creating the capacity and infrastructure for sustainable economic growth, building high quality affordable housing, and protecting the natural assets that make the District such a desirable place to live. The continuing global challenge of the climate emergency is also a key priority for us and a new Climate Change strategy and action plan are going to Full Council in September for adoption.
